Description
I often joke that Jiu Jitsu is just a big pyramid scheme. You start as a white belt and you usually spend your first few months getting smashed by everyone else in the gym who knows more than you do. But then more new people join and you realise you can pull off some moves you've learnt on the newbies and it feels great to no longer be right at the bottom of the class. This encourages you to introduce more and more new people. The more people who join after you did, the more people you can test your skills on. But there are always people above you, though fewer in number! The longer you keep training the higher up the pyramid you reach, but it won't be easy. There's a reason why there's always many more white belts than blue belts in any gym, more blue than purple, more purple than brown and more brown than black!
